Office Re-do, Part 2

Remember that last weekend Larry & I went to IKEA and got all the IKEA furniture we could handle to re-do our loft area as a true office.  One that didn’t look like a big ol’ mess and something that looked a tad more stylish.  We had the energy to finish the storage shelves and the filing cabinet areas, but not the desks.  We did summon up that energy though on Halloween, when we finally tackled taking down our old desks and built the new ones.  It was quite a bit of work, and because of my sciatic issues, I ended up not being able to help as much as I’d like, but Larry definitely did.  Or should I say, Lawronco!?  Which is Larry’s awesome new name as it fits in so many situations.

Anyway, we finished the job and at first, it has to be said, we were both wondering if we had made a huge mistake. The desks, once both were built, were enormous.  No longer can you kind of see downstairs from your desk…and the desk surfaces are plentiful to say the least.  So after taking a breath and putting our equipment back up and getting settled, things started to look reasonable.  Also, a few days later, and once the large console area was cleared out, that space called out for a television.  We had put a whole setup in the spare bedroom, but really, that wasn’t getting used at all.  So Larry brought that up and now we have quite the annex area for our desks.  Yay!  Here are the pics from the whole desk adventure, including a few randoms such as Lawronco and Halloween.
