Continuing the Fun of my New Blog (MM)

NOTE FROM OCT 2011: Alright, so this is once again another transition.  In order to not lose my previous posts from the MobileMe site, which is eventually going away in 2012, as well as iWeb/MobileMe hosting, I’m going to transfer those posts manually now to here.

Previous Post entry:

Alright, it’s finally time for me to keep up with this blog.  It’s certainly a LOT more fun for me to do it while using the power of my new fangled MacBook Pro which I purchased to replace the laptop I got back in 2005.  It had served admirably for the last 4 years, but Hobie needs his new toys like a crackwhore needs her…well, crack.  She’s a crackwhore after all.

I’m experimenting with the true functionality that iWeb gives you, as it’s a very constricted way to run a page.  There’s no ‘HTML’ view to fine-tune or such, it’s just pretty pages to type in and then you press ‘Publish Site’.  I have to say, I can’t deny that makes things FAR easier and far less time consuming than it was before for me.  It was a prime reason why I ended up trying to use Livejournal to do my site, but that just never really caught on with me or others, I think.  A little obvs when you see that I haven’t update it all that often.  I guess I really missed having my individual touch on things.

NEWayz, I’ve got some new pics to share with you all.  You can find them by clicking on the menu bar at the top where it says ‘My Albums’ or some such thing. (September 2014 Note: No, not anymore.  I’ll just put them here for your enjoyment)  Trust me, you’ll find your way there and it’ll be awesome.  There’s an album containing the pics from the night out with all my work peeps at Knickerbocker and then there is also an album containing pics from when Jeff Crepeau came up this past weekend and visited.

He came up on Friday for some other stuff but then spent Saturday with me and Larry.  We ended up walking down to the aircraft carrier Intrepid and not only saw that awesome ship but also the Growler Submarine was open, which was freakin’ awesome.  The visit was very brief, but it is always fun to see Jeff.

We went to John’s of Bleeker for some classic Pizza in the Village for dinner, which was one of two places that his boss has mentioned he had to try.  The other place was Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn, which IS awesome.  It’s just a long time to get there plus you have to usually wait 30-45 minutes outside just to get in.  But the pizza is definitely worth it – you may remember my pics of it from about May of 2008 (!) on the blue version of my site.  The pizza here at John’s was good, no doubt, but I think Grimaldi’s still wins a taste test.

On the work front, I’m still at NBC Universal, or should I call it NBC Universal Comcast?  Who knows honestly, but hopefully our team is in a safe and good position if and when we get turned into our own company.  I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing if it happens, to be honest.  But what do I know?  Except how to rock Oracle Forms and Reports, a little bit of Java, and the application known as REACT that rules the NBC Universal media libraries!!!! World domination is soon to be mine!

Okay, enough for now.  Go check out the albums.  I’m sure they’ll just be ridiculously entertaining and you’ll be so thankful that I’m back!
