E.T. is a movie that you may never be in the mood to actually watch, but when you do see it, you can’t help but be won over by it.  I am not sure the last time I actually watched E.T. was, but it’s been a long time.  We had bought tickets to watch it along with the L.A. Philharmonic and unlike the Back to the Future play-a-long, no special guests showed up although John Williams did have a pre-recorded video intro praising the movie.
I’m not sure if it was the wine, but while watching E.T., the emotions definitely were a bit overwhelming.  Steven Spielberg really did make an amazing movie, from the cast, the story, and to the special effects.  Watching it with a live orchestra during the scene where they fly across the moon was pretty spectacular.
