This news of the Colossus wooden roller coaster closing is terrible. It’s a fantastic wooden roller coaster that is still as thrilling as ever, even if it doesn’t have the tricks up its sleeves like its metal-coaster cousins. I presume they’re going to make way for possibly an even grander wooden coaster, but who knows? It will just be weird to not have the Colossus greet you at the parking lot, as that’s the attraction you’re always walking by as you enter Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Update: Was reading elsewhere that this could be a closing to then re-do the tracks and make it a steel-woody, which could mean that they’d add even more intense elements. Guess we’ll see….but in the meantime, it closes in August. May have to get there before then just to be able to ride it.
