Barbra’s Got Me

So, lately I’ve been kind of addicted to Barbra Streisand’s disco-fabulous works, especially from her album, Guilty.  I totally get and respect all of her ballad work but when Barbra is letting loose on some 70s-style pop?  OH YES PLEASE, MAY I HAVE SOME MORE?

“Woman in Love” is so ridiculously over-the-top in its excellence and drama.  I can’t help but love it as she sounds so good on this song.  “It’s a Right I’ll DEFENDDDD!!!” indeed.

And then “Guilty”?  It’s so damn fun.   I hadn’t really indulged in this Barbra side until Larry let me have copies of his albums, especially Guilty.  I’ve loved forever the song she did with Donna Summer, “No More Tears,” but what’s great is that there was this other new (for me) component to her disco era.  SO GREAT!!!

In other news?  The interviews are all done and I think they went okay for the most part.  I am not sure when I’ll hear back, but I’d personally like to know before Thanksgiving, just to have that no longer be something I’m stressing about.   Also, apologies to myself and to any who are reading this site.  I’ve been quite a bit apathetic to posting as it’s just been a rough few weeks.  Specifically about Amazing Race, I’m just almost over the show, to be honest.  These teams have been pretty boring and “The Save” really bothers me for some reason.  It’s such a bullshit device.  I still need to watch last night’s episode and then do a recap of it and not really worry about the previous episode…Good thing I’m not getting paid for these!
