The Seventh Leg

Sala Sentle, Brian and Greg!

This actually kinda sucks, as these guys were favorites of mine. They were funny, light-hearted, and seemed to be having a great time with each other and on the trip. I actually thought they had a chance what with all the mistakes made by people on their way to the Pit Stop this time. But alas, I think editing showed it to be closer than presumed, although it was looking likely that Meredith and Gretchen were about to blow it big time. I don't think M&G are going to be around for much longer though. Because if the new background to look out for is mountainous terrain, then both Meredith/Gretchen and Ron/Kelly need to look out. And it makes sense too, as Ron & Kelly are seriously imploding and Meredith & Gretchen just seem to be running out of steam, and honestly, they're playing stupidly. How can you miss the clues so many times now? The miss in the caves last episode caused Gretchen to get seriously hurt, and this time by driving by the log, you had to go all the way back. I think Uchenna & Joyce's oversight was stupid too, but they were at least kinda close. STUPID MOVES WILL LOSE YOU THE RACE, PEOPLE!

Francistown to Khwai River Lodge, Botswana

I'm a little tired and unmotivated and depressed, so I am keeping my extrapolation to a minimum tonight. Rather, here are some highlights that I wrote down while watching that made me chuckle:

- The fact that Gretchen looked like an abused spouse at the beginning of the race. Ouch!

- How many people aren't reading the clues completely? How much time did the brothers lose playing around at the 'fake' water tower? Did it lose them the race?

- Uchenna kicking serious butt on their Detour choice - he was balancing those items like it was no problem.

- Lynn and Alex having the worst luck (or worst skill) with cars. 2 broken vehicles? Amazing.

- Just the ridiculousness of two teams messing up on their way to the Pit Stop. Stop playing stupidly - you're near the end and it's time to clean up and race fast!

Linus watches The Amazing Race too!

At first I was little shocked with the first non-elimination round when Meredith and Gretchen had to turn over their backpacks with all of their clothes along with their money. I was astounded at how harsh CBS was being until last night's episode. That is what prompted two teams (who thought they were in last) to take two very different actions just in case it wasn't an elimination round. First watching Alex put on as many of his and Lynn's clothes as he could was just hilarious. Second there was Brian and Greg deciding they would finish the race in their bathing suits if they weren't eliminated. Unfortunately that wasn't the case because I think it would have been great to watch them actually continue in their bathing suits especially if they were sent to a colder climate next.

Ok, Ron and Kelly will be lucky if they are still together after the race. Kelly is really starting to have doubts about them and Ron is just clueless. According to Ron he is just focused on the race. Well Ron, you keep focusing and you might just find yourself alone when you are the "last team to arrive". Yes, I don't think they will make it much longer in the race or in their relationship either. By the way, Ron, we are tired of hearing about Baghdad.

Well, it's about that time for me to make a prediction, which with my prediction record on Survivor I should stop trying to make predictions but I just can't help myself. Thanks to Hobie's theory about the background pictures, however, I think I'll do better this time. Next team eliminated will be Meredith and Gretchen. You have to give them credit for lasting this long but they have just been barely getting by most weeks and I think their luck is about to run out. Next will be Ron and Kelly or maybe just Ron because Kelly has left by then, either way their bickering will do them in. See, that takes care of the mountain background pictures so Hobie's theory is correct! Now the tough part so I'll call it like this: Rob and Amber will get another million, with Lynn and Alex being a close second. This is because Lynn and Alex will be so focused on Rob and Amber that they will be right there with them but Rob and Amber would beat them in a foot race. Either way I think it will be close. Don't get me wrong, I think Uchenna and Joyce are a great team and do have a chance but they just haven't proven they can take first place but, they could be waiting for the one first place finish that really counts. Now watch all my predictions fall apart next week.
